Francis Dodoo - Pennsylvania State University
Francis Dodoo is a professor of sociology and demography at Pennsylvania State University as well as director of the Regional Institute for Population Studies at the University of Ghana.
His academic work focuses on sub-Saharan Africa, specifically gendered power in sexual and reproductive decision-making, and demographic and health outcomes associated with urban poverty.
Professor Dodoo has served in consulting in advisory capacities for a number of international organizations, including the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), USAID, the African Population and Health Research Center, and the African Development Bank.
Widely published in sociology and demography journals, Professor Dodoo has received funding for his work from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the John D. Rockefeller Foundation, among others.
