Charles Fried

Charles Fried currently serves as Beneficial Professor of Law at Harvard University Law School. From 1985-1989, he served as Solicitor General of the United States under Ronald Reagan and from 1995-1999 as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. He ist he author of many books and articles, including Anatomy of Values (1970), Right and Wrong (1978), Modern Liberty (2006), and Because It Is Wrong: Torture, Privacy and Presidential Power in the Age of Terror (2010), each of which develop themes in moral and political philosophy with applications to law.
