Matt Carlson is Associate Professor of Communication at Saint Louis University, USA. His work examines public discourse about journalism, with an interest in the cultural construction of journalistic norms and practices. He is author of On the Condition of Anonymity: Unnamed Sources and the Battle for Journalism (University of Illinois Press, 2011), co-editor with Bob Franklin of Journalism, Sources, and Credibility: New Perspectives (Routledge, 2011), and author of over two dozen journal articles and book chapters on how journalists and others construct journalism.
