María Pia Chirinos

María Pia Chirinos received her Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Navarra in 1987. Her concentrations were in the theory of knowledge and contemporary philosophy. Her thesis was directed by Professor Alejandro Llano and was entitled, “The Theory of Judgment in Brentano." She is currently Professor of Philosophy at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, Italy.
Her most recent books are entitled Un'antropologia del lavoro. Il domestico come categoria (The anthropology of work. Housework as a category) and Claves para una antropología del trabajo (The keys to an anthropology of work) which were published in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Her research interests focus on the philosophy of work and she is currently studying Hospitality and Care-giving in The Odyssey and contemporary culture.
